Christmas time brings out the best of the Great American Songbook, with so many great songs by great composers and writers celebrating the season written over the past 100 or so years.
Some we know we’ll hear every year (and perhaps a few of them we’ll hear…well, way too much). But many of the great tunes we just don’t get a chance to hear them as much as we’d like to.
Here’s a chance to not only hear them…but to hear them sung live with a great jazz quartet!
The Greenville Jazz Collective presents Tish Oney’s Swingin’ Christmas for its December show in our Jazz Series at the Coffee Underground. Tish has been a headlining artist on 18 national tours in over 30 states while serving as a longtime professor of jazz at several universities in NY, Los Angeles, and SC.
Tish has honed a perfectly curated concert of both standard favorites and practically unknown holiday gems that she has been performing in concert over the last 10 years. This will be the Greenville premiere, so you won’t want to miss this!
And Dr. Oney is not only a singer with serious jazz credentials, she is also a composer, arranger, author, and educator (just check out her credits!). So you know you’ll discover (or rediscover) some great Christmas songs performed by a world-class talent.
Admission is $20.00 through Eventbrite, or at the door, until tickets are sold out.
